This week the carnival topic is: “Something I made that I was REALLY proud of…”. or “Something I tried to make that didn’t turn out quite right…”
Well, I guess I'll take the question of something I made that I was really proud of... and the answer is: my first quilt. I started taking a beginning quilting class a couple of years ago, and all I had was desire and all the books I had read. After six weeks, we were taught the basics, but I took a little longer. Binding continues to thwart me. But, I 'gotter done' as they say. Now if I could just finish something else???

I haven't a sewing bee in my bonnet, I'm so glad to see your work. Great for you... now if I could catch up w/my scrapbooks - urgggh.
Great quilt, I love the colors and fabric!
Binding was a big problem for me until I watched over and over a segment on Simple Quilts. Alex showed how she does binding and I finally got it.
Ooooh that's so pretty! You do nice work!

What a beautiful quilt!
I pieced together a baby quilt for my youngest brother when I was 8 but one of my mom's friends helped me with the finishing.
Beautiful! I'd love to have more time to quilt (I've done just one small baby quilt). I love the colors you selected and the pattern. Your work is beautiful.
That's pretty, and very impressive for a first quilt.
Lovely quilt! Ah, binding....sigh...
