Offerings From The Pickle Tree

How did we get from here at almost 3 to almost 5?? Yes, my baby turns 5 next week...on the first day of his school career, no less. Couldn't they cut me a break with only one milestone at a time?
Well, here you have the Pickle in his tree. And he is all excited about starting kindergarten. We met his new teacher, Mrs. Martin, this week and he got to see his desk. The most precious part was when she tried to reassure me that Pickle was safe with her as she had X number of years as a teacher and mother. That made my day! I mean, seriously, do I come across as a first time mother? I reassured her that this wasn't my first rodeo, but it was still hard since he was my baby.

Initially, he wasn't slated to go to this elementary school. They had us zoned 5 miles away. It turns out that particular school was completely full, so we had to go to the school board to get permission to attend the school 2 miles away. Isn't that crazy? Why didn't they just do that to begin with? Oh, well...
Mr. Serious here. Wow, he looks so much like his daddy, I just can't believe it. It's hard to believe he's ready for kindergarten. This new school is having a "Boo Hoo Breakfast" for parents facing separation anxiety. I am not sure that I'm facing that, but I do know how hard it is letting them become more independent.

I love this shot, too. He's a sweet Pickle, that's for sure!

He is such a real cutie pie. I know what you mean about him going to kindergarten...we may have danced the dance before but the last one's always get us good. I think I cried more with the last one then I did with the first one!!! Great site and I love your quilt.

what a cutie. My daughter started kindergarten on her birthday (the 5th)as well... so we celebrated the night before with friends... her party will be later this month with her brother (whose birthday is on the 27th) since many of the same kids would be invited to both parties anyway!

Just wait until he goes to college. That is when I needed a Boo Hoo Breakfast for Son #2. You will still have Izzy to keep you company and he will probably test every nerve you have. Ha!!! See you tomorrow.
