
osteopetrosis. I never knew you could actually DIE from it, I just thought it made your bones brittle.

I honestly can't believe it...my first quilt was done in her fabrics.

She is going to be missed.

Wow! I didn't know you could die of that, either, and my mom has a serious problem with it herself...
I met Laurel Burch in the early 1990s in Chicago when Marshall Fields had a special boutique of her jewelry--before she got into fabrics and papers. She was an incredible woman and even then, was suffering from her disease. I will miss her! Thanks for the post.
WOW...Like you, I thought your bones became brittle, but I reckon if you think about it. They do deteriorate in the process. It does affect the organs in our bodies too. What a wonderfully talented woman she was.
