WIP Wednesday

This is Geronimo's project. She is doing great as you can see, and decided to continue the snowball effect. Unfortunately the poor kid's got taste in fabric like mine, and she raided my stash. I'm just glad someone besides me likes it, although I have no idea how's she's going to sleep under it.

As for me, I have decided to participate in
Quilts of Valor. I enjoyed making the bug jar quilts for the children's home we did first quarter. Debra sent me this: The only thing was the directions weren't clear to me. I'm sure it's just me, but I couldn't follow them.

So I got online. And found help from Quiltfrenzy, who has the instructions on her site.

So I've been working on it via my Singer while Geronimo was using my Pfaff. It's kinda cool having someone working with you, even on different projects.

(I originally saved this to finish later, but we had a hail storm and it knocked me offline. So if you saw the pared down version, I apologize)

Great Quilt! That girl is going to have wild dreams under her quilt.

Eh, I don't like that the directions weren't clear! One of the other gals wrote and said they got the FQs mixed up too. What were the Kitmakers thinking? Not much apparently. . .

I made a bunch of those faux log cabin blocks for a swap, they are really fun and easy! I used the instructions from quilt frenzy - just be sure you read through them, I wanted to make four blocks and ended up following the directions exactly and got something like 24! Lol* I'm making some blocks for a QOV like group too - I think it's nice to do this for the troops. :)

You're doing a great job teaching Geronimo. Love the colors, wouldn't want to sleep under them, but of course my eyes would be shut. Great fabrics for the faux log cabin.

Love that quilt and as my Dad would say, so loud it'll keep you awake at night! And also, hats off to you for having the patience to teach someone else to quilt. I don't have a single teaching bone in my body.

Geronimo's quilt is terrific! The wild fabric makes that simple block very striking.
