How clean is your house? Couldn't help my studio...
I don't want these chicks visiting my house. Have you seen this show,
How Clean is Your House?"? Well, Dish network lets you preview a channel for a month in hopes that you'll upgrade your TV package. This month, I've been watching the BBC. Most of it isn't my thing, but these ladies are a scream. I saw them on Lifetime for awhile, but they've not been back. I think it's the whole corporate thing because they use things around the house to clean with instead of store bought products. It does amaze me the houses they go into. Most of the time, it's houses that haven't been touched in a number of years.
I think my 'studio' of sorts embarrasses Hunnybunny. You know, the tablecloth on the wall with various and sundry blocks and borders. Then there's the whole fabric everywhere in our bedroom thing, along with my thread, needle, and now sewing machine collections. He's really been a good sport about it all. I try to keep it organized, but I still fall short.
Still working on my Quilt of Valor. It had some issues (operator error type issues)that Debra helped me with over the phone. That was kind of cool....now when I read her blog, it's like I can hear her voice. No picture of my mess today. I don't want the quilt police to make a house call.

If How Clean is Your House came to my house it would be closed up, stickers would be posted saying hazardous waste and I would be labeled as a slob.
I have three dogs and I would hate to think what they track in, my studio has big dust bunnies and if it were not for hubby the bathroom and kitchen would unusable.
Hum tomorrow is Saturday maybe I will clean.....HAHAH
I have notice that when other people enter my studio, I start getting edgy. And being that I'd rather sew than sweep, there are lurking dust bunnies with teeth that you probably don't want to get too close to.
Sometimes to make myself feel not quite so horrible, I watch Clean House on the Style Network and afterwards I feel it is possible to have a neat and tidy house. Maybe some day it will happen here...
If those ladies come to my house, they'd better be prepared to do some cleaning. It's neat, but not clean by any stretch. I figure the dirt will still be there when I get around to it.
I saw a cute sign once that said something to the effect of "My house was clean yesterday, sorry you missed it." Works for me.
Kim and Aggie scare me too! And some of the things they find in those houses ...
This is always a fascinating subject. Actually most of my house is clean, although cluttered, because no one is too good about putting things away promptly. There are lots of bad corners though--ugh.
Kim and Aggie crack me up. My kids watch and say, "And Mom, you thought our house was a mess!" I hasten to add, my house may be cluttered but it is NOT dirty -- not like those places. how do people live that way? I'm amazed at the ones where bags of garbage are lying around...it's so hard to take out the trash?
Ah, I love that show! Kim and Aggie! It's a major ego booster too watching them trudge through some of those houses, knowing that mine definitely isn't THAT bad! Lol* My favorite cleaning tip is the newspaper for cleaning windows and mirrors - it works better than anything else I've tried. I also used their tip on boiling coca-cola in your stainless still pots to get cooked on food off...it works! Lol*
Tell your Hubby - it's called CREATIVE CLUTTER! Lol* It's a requirement for all great artists! Don't you wonder what the sewing rooms of well know quilters ACTUALLY look like when it's in use? You know - not those insanely neat photos you see in the magazines...I wanna see what Marianne Fonz and Liz Porter's sewing rooms look like during the holidays!!! :)
Oh yes I love this show too - whenever I think my house is a mess and I'm mad at the kids and DH for messing it up, or if I just can't face cleaning it, I just turn this show on and instantly feel great lol!!
Don't even want to think about it.
BFF,
Miss T
